The de Rothschild to de
Roeschiele Story

33 years ago (1977)
, in our first year of business, Backstage was first
to introduce a
new Men's Fragrance Line to our area. It was
manufactured by The Lenel Corporation
of Dallas, privately owned by Mrs. Frances
Rothschild.

In 1999, Mrs. Rothschild lost a legal battle
to use the deRothschild name and was forced
to change the name of the fragrance to de Roeschiele.

In
2000, Mrs. Rothschild passed away at the age of
97. For whatever
reason , her family chose to dissolve the company. We were
advised that The Lenel Corporation and The de Rothschild
Fragrance would no longer exist. Backstage was
able to purchase the remaining inventory, of which many
of you purchased units. At that
time
there was some talk that the Rothschild employees would
purchase the company, but
that never materialized.

In 2001 , after it
became evident the Lenel Corporation would no longer
exist, we contacted
a very reputable fragrance house to make the fragrance
for Backstage. We named it
R*Child ....The Next Generation. We began selling it at
Christmas , December 2001

In January of 2002,
after witnessing our tremendous sales in such a short
period of time, our
manufacturer decided to approach the Rothschild family
to purchase the rights to the trademark and remaining
assets of the company.

In Spring of 2002,
the New Packaging was completed . The old packaging was
manufactured overseas. The new owners prefer to
manufacture their own here in the USA to better control
quality and supply.

Today, this
same great fragrance is packaged and labeled as
"deRoeschiele".
We are pleased to have many loyal
